Yes, it doesn’t matter where you bought the device, if it meets the requirements listed you can trade in with us.
We are happy to accept trade in devices if they aren’t counterfeit or broken beyond repair. When you get a quote, we list the failures we will accept on a trade in product. If you’re still not sure simply bring the device into your local Hub. As there has been an increase in counterfeit devices in the UK market, whilst they may look like originals they are illegally produced and can be dangerous to use. We don’t be able to accept these items for trade in.

As a business we understand you may have more than 1 device to trade in, this is possible by completing each trade in individually.
Instore: Bring your old device and your estimate reference into store (if you have one – don’t worry if not, we’ll create on in store). We’ll process your trade in and give you a e-giftcard towards the new product you’ve selected. This gift card can be used instantly, and we will take care of everything else.
Online: Once you have completed your quote, there will be an option to complete the quote online. We will capture some of your details so we can communicate with you about your trade-in and provide the right postage labels. Once your device has arrived with us, we will confirm the quote and process the payment.
Instore: as part of our instore trade-in, we will provide you with a Currys e-giftcard! This will be sent straight to your email, and can be used instantly.
Online: once you have posted your device, its arrived and we have checked it against the valuation, we will release the bank transfer. This can take 3 to 5 days to get to you once we have authorised it.
You can return your device whenever is convenient for yourself. We can however only hold the price we pay for 14 days from point of quotation. In some instances, quotes can be extended.
The value of your trade in device is based on its specification and condition, which you can get an immediate quote for online or instore. This is then confirmed either instantly store, or once we have received it at our warehouse if you posted the device online.
We will always wipe and test your product initially. Once we have confirmed the condition/value of your product, and identified they don’t match, we will contact you with options. Normally this means an alternative price (typically a non-working price). You can then decide if you want to accept this valuation, or we can return the product to you free of charge.
We always check your product and make sure any data still stored on it is securely wiped. We then help tech live on and on. Our 1000's of experts work their magic repairing your tech if it breaks down. And, with trade-in, they can help your old tech find a new life, while you upgrade to something better This could be resuse, repair and finding the best route for your product. That way, we help the planet and your pocket too.
Keeping your data and sensitive information secure is our top priority. When we receive a device for trade in, we (or an approved third-party) wipe the data stored on it – this is done to Infosec Standard 5 (the same standard as UK government data destruction). If you trade in an iOS device, we delete the encryption key so that any stored data can’t be deciphered. If your device can’t be wiped, the data storage components will be destroyed, and the waste materials recycled.
Once you’ve got an online quote from us, you’re free to trade in your device or keep it – the choice is yours. If the device you send us using the pre-paid label provided online differs from the one we quoted you on or the device you bring into store differs from the one you’ve specified online, the quote we gave you won’t apply. Once you’ve traded in a device, we won’t be able to return it.
Once we've got your item, we'll give it a once over. If we discover it still has some life, we'll attempt to resell it or give it to charity.
