Frequently Asked Questions

  • When can I upgrade?

    O2:
How much it will cost to upgrade early depends on how far you are into your contract and prices may vary.

You can upgrade to a new contract ideally after the first 12 months of your contract. However, if you’re on a longer-term contract (for those on 24-month or 36-month contracts) you may have different Terms & Conditions, please contact us or the Business Customer Services to find out your eligibility.

To find out if you are eligible for an upgrade simply contact us 0330 678 0527

    Vodafone:
Vodafone lines can be upgraded up to 45 days prior to your contract end date, you may have different Terms & Conditions, please contact us or the Business Customer Services to find out your eligibility.

    EE:
If you're an EE customer already with us then you are able to upgrade up to 180 days prior to your contract end date, however please note that your remaining term with EE will be rolled over onto your new EE contract (ex. If you have 3 months left on previous contract and with a new 24 months contract subscribed, the final contract length will be 27 months).

If you are new to us wishing to upgrade an existing contract purchased elsewhere or direct from EE you can upgrade within the last 30 days of your contract.

What types of connection are there?

    Upgrades
An upgrade is when you choose to renew your existing mobile contract with the same network provider and change your current tariff. If you choose to switch network the industry classes, this as a new connection.

    Moving Networks (Porting)
Many people want to take their existing number with them where they’ve built up a good network of contacts and rely on being contacted on their business mobile. This is where porting your number needs to take place. In order to transfer your number you will need to obtain a Port Authorisation Code (PAC) (hyperlink to PAC) from your existing network and provide it to our sales advisors.

A new contract with a new number
If this is a completely new business phone or you don’t mind changing your number then you simply connect as a new customer onto your chosen network. This option will not allow for post connection changes such as port in your existing number. Please call us on 0330 6780 527 to discuss your connection type

    What is my PAC code

PAC is short for 'Port Authorisation Code'. This is what enables your current network to transfer your number to your new mobile network.

Firstly you need to ask your current network for your PAC code (see below). Your PAC code is what enables you to move your mobile phone number from your existing network to your new network. Please ensure your handset is unlocked to all networks.

The PAC from your existing network is valid for 30 days. If you don't use it within 30 days you will need to get another one from your network.

If you tell us your PAC code on the phone we will aim to transfer your number within 2 working days, networks do not port on weekends or bank holidays. Also for the port to be successful the end user needs to be in the UK on the porting day.

On your porting day it can take up to 24h to fully transfer your number onto your new network, occasionally some disruption may be experienced.

How do I order a replacement SIM?

If you require a new SIM you can order this to arrive the next working day* by either emailing us at [email protected] with your mobile number and address you’d like your sim sent to or calling us on 0330 6780528

I've lost my phone / I've had my phone stolen

If your sim has been lost/ stolen please let us know so we can place a bar on the current sim.

If you have taken out insurance via a 3rd party you will need to contact them to arrange a replacement handset. If you wish to order a new handset, please call our sales team on 0330 6780527.

(if you require a bar adding out of our working hours please call your respective network via these numbers)

How do I swap my SIM?

Once your new sim has arrived all you need to do is contact us with your sim card number (this is found printed on the sim card or on the housing the SIM arrived), please note sim swaps can take up to 48 hours excluding weekends for 1 – 99 lines and can only be processed on a SIM that is currently in the UK.

Do phones sold by Currys Business lock to the first network?

All our devices are unlocked and don’t lock to the first network sim that is placed in them.

If your current handset is locked and was brought from another supplier, you will need to contact your network directly to get this unlocked.

If you have an older handset that was purchased from us and is locked please call us on 03306780528 to discuss how to unlock your device.

What warranty does my device have?

All devices purchased from us have a 24-month warranty with the exception of Apple devices that have a 12-month warranty.

To log a warranty claim please call our customer service team on 0330 6780528, you will need the IMEI of the device this can be found by typing in *#06# into your device and pressing call.

If your handset does not show an IMEI this is either printed on the back of the device or on the sim card tray.
