The current legislation is now over 20 years old, so the top energy efficiency rating has been achieved by all major brands. In fact, over 90% of products now have an A+++ rating, so it's difficult for customers to figure out which products are the most energy-efficient
The new ratings system will affect washing machines, washer dryers, refrigerators, wine cellars and dishwashers.
The current system will be replaced by a simple A-G ratings system, so you will no longer see any A+, A++ or A+++ ratings. This new structure will make comparing the energy efficiency of various products faster and easier for you.
From March 2021, the new A to G rating system will be displayed on items in-store and online
You might see labels with both old and new energy efficiency rating labels on them if you purchase a product between June 2020 and March 2021.
